    View house tenants

    On website at least (in-game too if possible) we should be able to see who and how many players rent our houses in the same way we see our businesses' employees.

    the server has a a consistently low player count and there's a massive amount of properties that available to purchase...
    renting is probably rare, doesn't really change the game in any significant way, doesn't provide statistics that worth keeping track of...

    It doesn't, it's your valid point of view. Yes, all that is true, but there are some specific houses that are rented a lot for being close to somewhere crowded at times. It is certainly nothing significant to the game, but if it were easy to implement, wouldn't hurt.

    i'll agree with you there.
    just getting tired of the excessive suggestions "that wouldn't hurt"
    the only reason i even bothered commenting is because i really wish we had more features/updates that changed the game in a way to really entice players to spend more time here.
    your recent plant idea has that so i was down to support it. but little things like this and updating the forum banner link or whatever the fuck that was about are a waste of the limited amount of dev time that we get nowadays.
    it appears as though you'd like some new features to the real estate side of things, which would be cool, id just rather see bigger and better improvements.

    Well, I suggest things that come up my mind in accordance to my game style. I think "suggestions that wouldn't hurt" are exactly that, they wouldn't hurt in any way. If they take time off from other important things, then they are hurting and therefore the suggestion can wait or be discarded. Big and important changes could take a lot of time, and maybe there's some time in between during that long and complicated process that could allow adding small stuff like this suggestion. Also, significant changes like the ones you reffer to, will impact the server and its current handful of players for the good or for the really bad, so it's dangerous in my opinion taking into account the kind of changes being proposed lately (like the suicidal icon removal idea and variants of it). These, I believe will bring the server down even more, and therefore I put my grain of sand suggesting small things that accumulated (mines and other people's, i.e Kraken's latest idea of /ach recognition, which is an encouragement and doesn't harm anybody at all) could provide little and various reasons to achieve what we all agree to: keep more people playing.

    we've had our icon discussions and i don't want to muddy up your thread with more of it, but since you brought it up, i'd like you to consider this...
    out of curiosity, i checked to see if you replied to this mid day yesterday, and found that you were in game at the time (and since i rarely play i do understand the irony of me voicing my opinions to some who is still active) but it was literally just you and 1 other player in there.

    so to me it looks like the opposite and icons are kinda like cigarettes. a widely accepted form of suicide. theyre a nice luxury item, but can cause a slow death. and nowadays its like the server was chain smoking and has developed cancer and now the suggestion section is like chemotherapy.
    all im trying to say is, sure little updates wouldn't hurt, but even if this were to get developed, we're almost at a point where there's nobody left to even rent a house to lol.

    Don't worry, whatever opinion players have to share are all welcomed on my threads. Yes, we're getting back to the icon discussion thread, but since we're at it...I understand your creative comparison, I really do. And I understand the main point of view and perspective you guys are presenting regarding how things should run to make things more even for both new players and robbers. But I hardly doubt we'll ever get to an agreement on how to improve this situation and what to implement/remove, simply because opinions are divided and both sides have good grounds and reasons and none of the sides will change minds. The only thing left for us is to debate and be persistent with our ideas, and the final decision is always made by the person who actually runs the server and decides what course the server will follow. And then we will act upon: some will receive whatever change is made with happiness, and some (and I can talk on behalf most =DCM= and several other active players) will definitely stop playing. Maybe that is what some people want. Maybe the old and loyal players like us are not worth it anymore and maybe the potentially new players that may or may not come to SACNR are tomorrow's old and loyal players happy with the removal of icons, for instance. To stay in topic, I think absolutely the opposite, I think icons are one of the best (if not the best) features the server got implemented. It's one of the greatest recognitions to persistent players who built up from the bottom. Because icons allow good, loyal and active players during a long time that it took them to get one, and the time spent on server and dedication, to get a reward and a "safe spot" to store their earning after, in my case, years of working hard thinking ahead and making plans to buy this, and that, and that. I understand robber's point of view too. This is why, in part, I've been a robber for the last few weeks, and I made literally millions robbing $80,000 each time from low security businesses, banks, casinos and stores while planting drugs. Icons were not an impediment at any time to make good cash. But yes, I understand it's much easier to rob $800,000 on one time, right? It certainly is, but it'd destroy people who have built more than these robbers, and that's really unfair. The possible solution I think is not taking away anything from anyone. One way or another, with different gamestyles, we worked for what we got, and so we should keep. Therefore we could create other means for robbers and new players to build up and get where we are. We should create updates and modifications to give these players certain leverage over time itself, because I understand it took us years getting where we are and the server can't take that much time to recover from its current situation. I have my hopes on finding a solution maybe not to completely fix, but help to fix this situation, not in destroying what we have, what has been implemented and well received by hundreds of players, but creating. And thus I will probably soon create a new thread on GSD or Suggestions section presenting these ideas I'm talking about.

    (sorry in advance for continuing the off topic discussion but..)
    looking forward to seeing the full spectrum of your ideas. i do appreciate your efforts.

    i may seem like a one track minded player but really we aren't as different as it may seem.
    during the past couple months i've been exploring other servers out there to see what they're doing to attract so many players.
    the servers range in style but i've realized that i hate dm servers. they're boring af after a short amount of time and off no real long term goals.

    other servers have cops and robbers but the housing systems are total shit compared to what we have here, so i'm actually down to come up with something for everyone because it helps keep the server feeling like an actual place to "reside". i personally love that aspect, an open world where you get to leave a mark and when you return it's still there.

    i would actually love to see sacnr take its property system to greater levels because there are features that we have that others don't and i think we should capitalize on it.
    i think it would be cool if being sort of a real estate tycoon was more of a thing..seeing the market section on the forum lit up with things you might want to spend money on would be great. but i know there are many concerns with players owning too many props, but that could be a fun thing and with the right tweaking could actually make use of your original suggestion if things were different and there was more demand and the supply of properties was altered in some way to give them new life and renewed the desire for people to obtain them.
