Yep that's right if you go to any video such as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYe2wBaJeio and try to copy the description is 'about' tab you cant any more. you can only click on links.

this is due to some fucked up html5 DRM system that all the most common browsers like chrome or firefox DECIDED TO JOIN themselves.

who ever inveted this should be shot in the face

edit: you can evade this if you right mouse click and select 'view page source' and then look through the code to find the description but how much effort is that!

It's not anything to do with DRM. It's a common CSS Property on the .yt-uix-expander-head element

.yt-uix-expander-head {
cursor: pointer;
-moz-user-select: none;
-ms-user-select: none;
-webkit-user-select: none;

As a web developer, you'd normally use this code when plebs and other computer illiterate people (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=old%20people) double click elements with actions tied to them, selecting everything on the page. As the description box is hidden by a click, I'd bet it's that. Poor execution on YouTube's part though.

You can read more about it here:

If you really are concerned about DRM in HTML5 though, you can read more about it here (https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/html-media/raw-file/tip/encrypted-media/encrypted-media.html) but this DRM is mostly related to HTML5 Video/Audio and the canvas tag.
